I'm new at this so thanks, all, for your helpful tips & suggestions, etc. I'll take more [& better] pictures and try to come up with a price - maybe getting these appraised somewhere. Either that or I may punt and just sell my Slingerlands on consignment. If you don't soon see these in the 'for sale' category here, that's what happened. I live in VT. Brought these drums north with me long ago !
Slingerland vintage 1963-1965 Drum Set w/original heads,hardware&cases
Thats a faded sky blue pearl kit, the 18" bass is the money.
As I'm sure its been said here a thousand times, Slingerland kits just don't bring the cash!!
I would guess at starting around $1000, give or take, and see what that brings. Sell the cymbals separate.
Show some pics of the insides, if they are mahogany in my mind thats a plus!
Good Luck
your snare drum is a artist model please post a pic so we can see the shell inside just take a pic of the bottom through the clear bottom head it could be a solid shell model.
The snare is interesting. The serial number is rather low for a '65 date stamp. Regardless, any date stamp at all points to this being a 3-ply shell. Would definitely like to see some pictures.
Good call on the snare, I also noticed the hoops on the bass drum, converted floor tom?
Better pics of that also!

Just browsing the Slingerland catalogs available online, the Jet Outfit, with the tom style hoops on the bass drum debuted in 1964, so that makes sense, and that drum appears to a. Not have muffler knobs, and b. Be 14" depth, neither of which is appropriate for a floor tom.
I'm gonna say the likeliest scenario is that this is a jet outfit bass drum - which also explains the lack of tom mount.
Yes, more pictures needed, but this does appear to be an original "Jet Outfit". The drum sizes are correct. While Slingerland's are undervalued these little kits will bring more money than standard sized Slingerland kits. Please post here when you arrive at a price as there is sure to be some interest from the membership. Good luck.
I bet that 18'' bop bass drum sounds awesome! Drooling...
Hi, again all. You're good ! Very interesting reading what everyone is saying & trying to figure out about what I've got here. I'll attach a picture or 3 to this. I haven't forgotten the 'no flash' advice so I'll borrow a better camera & will take better close-up shots. I wanted to show the one crack in the finish - on the bottom of the bass drum. I'm still working on a price and method of how to sell. I appreciate your interest & willingness to help. Thanks !
Lots of unmolested originality here. Do all the drums have the same interior? How about the floor tom? Expect to see clear maple if all from the same time period ('64-'65). A better/closer picture of the snare bearing edge would also be helpful.
