Thanks a lot. I'm in Ireland so it could work out cheaper buying from Germany.

Perhaps you might be able to tell what the snare is? I think it's German. It's a single tension drum. You can see it in another thread I started called. What is this snare that I just bought?

Thanks for the help.

Here's the drum. Somebody thought it would make a decorative piece with candlestick holders. It should arrive soon from Germany, candlestick holders and all.

Good enough. :)

I'm assuming it's a brass shell.

Could be brass...but probably its a steel Shell. The steel Shells also sounds very nice. I have a newer model of a marching drum from DERI. Sounds very good!

You will soon know:-)

I really hope it's not a steel shell. I will let you know. In future I will consult you before I buy any other mystery German drum. DOH

I'm also getting these vintage German snares. I've owned a number of old German drums (mostly Sonor) I really like the offset lugs.

I think these are Tromsa. The green (blue?) sparkle appears to have Deri lugs. There's also a 12" Lefima and some Sonor pedals.

Any information on these items? I'm particularly interested in the steel snare. Any chane this one is a brass shell? :)

HY Chromeo,

The steel snare is a LEFIMA as far as i can see! Early 60s! Same strainer on them as on Tromsa Snares!

The blue sparkled looks like a Deri Rimmel Snare.... these Drums sound quite good ..had a few of them:-)

I have a Rimmel 13" Brass Snare wich sounds just as nice as a Dynasonic:-)

Thanks Christian. So, it's a LEFIMA? It's not a brass snare? That's twice I got it wrong now.

I think any brass drum will sound nice. Brass is brass after all. I've had some Olympic brass snares that sounded excellent and an Amati COB that was almost as nice as my Super Ludwig.

Any idea what type of Sonor pedals I've got here? I'm learning. baby crawl2
