John, et al...
While I was out for the Chicago Drum Show, David and I had many conversations about the VDF, where it all started, where it has gone, and where it's going. Included in those chats were discussions about some of the "brush fires" that seem to start between a select group of guys, and for whatever reason. There are just personalities that are NOT going to mesh. Not placing blame here on any ONE person as being the culprit .. but .. the cast is almost always the same when you read the credits!
... John's post, while impassioned, explanatory, and quite eloquent, would have served no purpose other than to once again supply the spark that gets the fire going, although I know that was NOT his intention. What a metaphor! Anyway, where I DO understand WHY you felt the need to write that... the guys that are your friends are going to be nodding their heads in agreement, and the guys that aren't your friends are going to be shaking theirs... and here we go, we're off and running! Indeed.
So, we must really try to keep the focus here, although all of you know that I am quite easy on what is allowed! These types of posts though, really only serve to crank up the arguments and disagreements, while changing no one's mind one way or the other. THANK YOU for all of your continued support and understanding, and for being some of the BEST people ever on a public forum!
