Slingerland Blue Satin Flame Drums Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Well, I did it again, I sold the red sparkle Slingerland kit and bought this early 70's Slingerland kit in a blue satin flame finish. It's pretty much all original, down to all the heads on the drums. I got a good deal from a fellow forum member who lives in San Antonio. I was able to make a small profit, so it all worked out very well.

Nice kit, however the red sparkles would go better with the

Christmas tree.

Lots of Slingy activity on the VDF forum lately. Maybe the market will be more kind to them in 2015. They deserve it..

The wrap on the 13" tom has an exceptionally cool satin flame effect when the photo is enlarged.

That's a great looking Slingy set. Now, all you need are two things:

1. A Set-O-Matic single tom holder

2 A Set-O-Matic dual tom holder

This will give you two great drum sets without any need to resort to the very anti-vintage vibe snare drum stand for a "mounted" tom.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Howie in your zest to rant did you look at the pic of the kit? Marks kit is a 70's kit. But yet in the 1965 Slingerland catalog the jet kit # 20 N is Factory supplied with a snare drum stand to mount the mounted tom on. :) Here is another dig at ya brother that is a virgin bass drum also. and the company is Slingerland not slingy !! :) Just ribbing ya ! http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/catalogs/slingerland/1964_slingerland_6.jpg
