Hi. I don't do much posting on this site but I do a lot of reading from you guys... A big thank you for that :D
I just got a vintage 3 piece Slingerland kit 20-12-14. I would really like to know your info on this and help me figure out what to do with the kit. I am thinking about removing the wrap at refinish it in clear laquer or oil over it's beautiful mahogany... Good or bad idea ?
Bass drum 3-ply with re-rings (serial 118987) It has the M printet on the interior but it also has a white coating ?? - Is it rewrapped or ? - Does it have mahogany or maple outer ply. It's been modified with some ugly Tama tom bracket. Will put some original mounting bracket back on.
Tom (serial 447666) please see photos. It has white wrap and greyish interior. Thin shell with no re-rings. The heads are really difficult to put on. Too tight between wrap and head. Hase some tama tom bracket on but no other holes or traces of other brackets.
Floor tom (serial 562970). Same material and look as the tom. Mounted with 3 Tama brackets and no holes or sign of other brackets.
I would really appreciat if you could take your time to look into this. Just curious about what drum kit I have. This is my first Slingerland kit :D - Thank You Guys ;)
