Looked at a Rogers set today...

Looked at a Rogers set today that was a mixture of Cleveland and

1972-era drums. The Cleveland badges were a 20" bass, 16" floor,

and a 12" rack tom. The "1972-era" drums were of the same sizes.

The wrap was removed on all drums. The 2 outer bass hoops

had wh. marine pearl inlays. Had 2 Rogers bass pedals. The drums

were all painted black. Badges present in all drums. All hoops and

hardware were there, as were the separate swivo hardware.

What's do you think I should offer to buy them?? The guy is

asking $1000.00. The rest of the set had older import stands and

cymbals. Not really interested in those items. Any help would be

appreciated. Am trying to buy these. Thanks.

You could find orphan drums for couple of hundred unmolested. Hardware would have to be almost mint condition swivomatic to be worth much as well.

Stripped shells, repainted interiors. Dream On.

You'll never be able to make a deal on these. Way too big a gap between what he's asking and what they're worth.

Just an FYI I bought my kit for about $1000 and it did not have headaches. I would pass or offer much much less....say like $200.
