Both are most likely solid Mahogany steam bent shells. I`m not sure about the BD shells being solid, but I think they were !i

I might sell these if the price were right. Where would you start?

Those are amazing! Absolutely without a doubt not for a nine year old! That painting looks like it was done yesterday! I really think all of that stuff and I mean every piece should stay together. That set has been that was prob since the late 20's and it would be a real shame to see any of it split up.

Finding gold pearl in that nice of condition is ultra rare too. Hopefully this set ends up in the hands of a serious collector that knows what all this is.

This one is like yours, artgold finish with attachments a similar one without the BD head and nickel finish was let go for $1,400. Your wrap, condition of snare with original case, artgold, and atachments, I would start at $2,100 if it were mine.(negotiable)

Are there any numbers stamped in the shell of the snare drum, or bass drum?

That may give you a clue to dating the outfit.

I'd guesstimate the value at least 2K.

Everyone's giving good advice on this thread, don't split the stuff up.

Mike's the guy for details on the snare drum, as well as the rest of the outfit. (For example, there's two or three variations of the throw off, Mike knows the details.) Mark Cooper is also very good at Leedy outfits.
