I got lucky with this one - Oyster pink Sling Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I have waited around 3 weeks for this to arrive and I've been like a kid before Christmas. Anyway, I got home about 3 hours ago and it's here. The BD is stamped Jul 64 and the toms Aug 64. The BD serial is 44xxx as is the Soundking snare. Sizes are 20/12/14 and 14x5 snare

It is in very good shape - some fade on the top of the bass drum and the previous owner had fitted strange outrigger type legs to the BD using self tapping wood screws. Fortunately he only used a total of 4 screws and the holes are clean and small.

The snare stand is a Slingerland bottom and an Ajax top and the push buttons are missing from the FT leg brackets. Otherwise it's all there and in quite remarkable shape.

It has the original heads on the BD and original batter heads on the toms (fitted to the reso side). It came with a 60s Zildjian A crash/ride (I think) and 2x Zyn 16" cymbals that were being used as hi hats. Also came with a few stands, some, I suspect, Ajax bongos, a cowbell and a strange, possibly homemade 8" deep snare drum.

There is a message in pencil inside the BD that's hard to read but looks like the shop details where it was sold in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Ok, on with the clean up.

Andrew
