Hi I am new to this group and wanted to introduce myself and also ask some questions. I am NOT a drummer, I am a guitarist/saxophonist and a local guitar builder in Boulder, CO. I do have a small home studio that always has very nice drums, currently a set of PJL 8,10,13,14,20X20 Keller shelled, before that vintage DW and Camco kits- I am switching to vintage drums and have a set of 1958 WMP slingy's less the snare -22,13,16 but they have some issues a couple of mounts changes etc.. but still have the right mojo- I am also in process of getting a set of pre-serial # Ludwig WMP floor & 13" rack toms that are very clean and original- my question is this, how hard is it to find both a 12X8 tom as well as a 22 " kick for the ludwigs?? In looking at the much hated eBay I found only one that recently sold but it had a bunch of xtra holes and no hardware. finally how much does re-wrapping a drum affect it's value. any help for a newbie is very much appreciated-ron

Welcome. I believe WMP is a pretty common color. Should be lots to find on ebay with a advanced search. A rewrap does affect the value but it really varies. A lot of times it seems to depend on if you are the buyer or the seller of the rewrapped kit. Also the quality of job done. Im no expert though and there are a ton of more knowledgable folks here.

I agree, with a little patience you should be able to fined what your looking for. As far as re-wrapping affecting the value, the worse the condition of the drum less it will lower the value. If the original finish is toast you may even increase the value. Never re-wrap a drum that doesn't need it.
