He'll see this thread I'm sure. Try sending him a PM and ask what the story is with the floor tom. Did he acknowledge receiving your order?

I hope you get your drum, I know you've been waiting on it for awhile now. Be nice to that RB kit completed too! Hang in there, Mikey will see this thread and respond.

Sorry Mikey, I don't understand your angry response regarding this matter. In response to your last post, yes I did read that you sold all the drums; that was on November 16th. I sent you a request via VDF e-mail for a 3 ply 16" tom about 2 hours after your original ad was posted on the 15th of November. I thought I was so lucky to be awake and to be one of the first if not the first to see your ad and respond.

You asked us to use email and not PM which is what I did.

I also sent another email later on November 15 and the 16th and in each one apologized if I was being a PIA. You neglected to answer any of them at that point.

I figured with 40 drums to pack and ship, you would need time and even though I knew I'd been VERY early in answering your ad (remember you were going to process them in the order that they came?) I didn't want to bother you.

I then sent you another email on the 25th of November hoping that you might let me know what the status of the drum was. Again I was ignored and I sent one more on the 16th of December with the same results. I think that anybody with even a modicum of common courtesy would take 3 minutes to reply to a message to let another forum member know what's up. (your post of 11/16 only said that the drums were sold. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that thought it meant they were sold to us).

After not hearing from you and nobody showing off any pics of their progress on restoring these drums I put up a post yesterday asking about them which is what finally brought you out of the woodwork. Still nobody saying " Hey, here're my Gretsch RB's I got from Mikey, coming along great huh?" I think your angry response coupled with the lack of anybody acknowledging that they ever got any of these drums says it all. I'll refrain from saying what I think happened but I will say that my honor is intact.

Believe it or else!

This is an interesting thread. I read this one and several others that were posted by Mikey777 and for some reason things just don't add up. So, I've been doing a little research. Just so you'll know, I'm a retired newspaper reporter that worked for many, many years at the largest newspaper in Orange County, CA. So, I'm used to digging up facts. And usually when my instincts tells me there's something wrong, they're right.

So, this thread... Mikey777 said he was posting these 40 drums on this forum before he put them on ebay, so this was his only source for buyers. He said that he would sell them on a first come first served bases and apparently he sold all 40 drums within 2 hours, exclusively to members of this forum. Yet nobody on this forum seems to have purchased any. Mikey777, what happened to the 40 drums? Did you ever really have them?

His Christmas Present story has some questionable math to it also. He states he left at 1:30 am and he dropped off the last set at 7:00 am. So let's see, that's 5.5 hours to drive 500 miles. So, Santa/Mikey777, you were doing 100 mph and your brother was throwing the sets off the back of the truck while you sped by?

I don't know Mikey777. Maybe you just like to exaggerate, or maybe you flat out lie. You've got me curious now and I'm going to have to do a little more research.

Talk to you soon.
