Drum looks legit to me except for the strainer... something funky going on there. The drum is in real nice condition too! $800. may not be such a crazy price for that one. In real estate the 'buy rule' is; location, location, location. For drums it; condition, condition, condition. That one is cherry for a drum that age. I was recently willing to pay $650 for a sky blue pearl pre-serial J-fest. $800 just doesn't seem too far off the mark considering it's oyster black and in primo shape.

Too many great drums to list here!

John,

I would agree that $800 MIGHT be worth it if ALL PARTS were original and clean. For $800, I would expect the proper and original strainer, butt, tension rods, hoops and maybe the snare wires. This drum is missing pretty much all these, except maybe for the top hoop.

There must be some mistake there, he has that listed as a keystone badge in the description. I have purchased from Gerry and he is a great seller!

Point taken. But still... black oyster pearl and nice and clean too... it's 'almost' all there anyways. They just don't come up that often is all. I have no skin in this game, so it's all just, op-ed and talk coming from me. :p

Correct about the "keystone" description... twice! While I've never purchased from Gerry, his items, descriptions and feedback support all the good things said about him!

Hey John! I'm taking all opinions! I do agree that the drum is very clean. I just wish I could pull this drum apart and look at ALL the details!

I would be very amazed if this drum is not a rewrap. I have never seen this wrap on an original Ludwig drum but I have several sheets of wrap that looks exactly like this.........very blue for black oyster.
