I just picked up a set of 66 Slinky's. They are pretty clean but need work. It seems Slingerlands are not high on the value chart... Before I get neck deep with restoring them ($$$) what's the word on VDF about Slinky's
Thx....D

They are awesome drums! Will sound great! Parts can be reasonable or stupid depending on what your looking for. Ive heard values are on the rise but they are definitely the lowest value wise between Ludwig, Gretsch, and Rogers. Condition is everything!
Hope this was helpful. Show us some pics and ask some questions.
Cheers

Do they work well on stairs still? That is the key determinant to vintage Slinky value. Kids usually stretch them out, too.

Could you post pics of your areas of concern?

I dropped one of my Luddies down the stairs once... it did not work well... the throwoff went right through the shell... the vintage value went down. I'd imagine the same would hold true in the case of the Slinky.
Kidding aside... Let's see some pics! Excited
FYII think the proper terminology is "Slingy's".
Slingy's are great! I have two sets of them.
Show us what you've got!

I know they're called "slingy's" but I like to call em Slinky's.... That's just me..
I'll post pictures when I get a chance to upload some. They are only shells, I need everything! I haven't tried to get the wrap off yet so I'm not sure how i want to finish them, natural or all sparkly.
I'm also working on an old Gretsch bop kit. Just finished the snare, as soon as I'm done with the other 3 pieces I'll start the Slinky's
