I've been looking at these 12x6 snares. Been curious about the small size yet deep. Like to get some input and thanks in advance.

Speaking for myself, I only own 6.5' deep snare drums. I'm not sure about the 12' diameter.....may be interesting to try, especially when the drum is made by a brand such as Gretsch......one thing....ever since I acquired my first 6.5' deep snare drum, that is all I will play. I own three snare drums and the sound that this depth produces, in my opinion...cannot be touchedflower

They do have a tight sounding crack to them.Funny thing back at O.C.D.P. 1990's i made alot of these snares from 6ply to 20ply maple shells. From 6" to 6.5 deep they all sounded good..I even made some with 10" heads but up to 8" deep...I guess i had to much time on my hands....Mikey
