Take a good careful look at 18's with mounts before you do it. And consult a few people. DanC especially.

Took this picture at a gig setup yesterday before it got dark.18 x 14 bass drum, 12 x 8 tom, 14 x 14 floor tom. All stickers inside are the large paper tags (Cleveland style) with Fullerton stamped on them. Put's this kit I'm guessing pre-1972. Bass drum is virgin
Want a Koa Dyna to match?
I actually like the Koa finish, it's one of the better 70's Formica wraps, imho.
Your bass is only drilled for the 2 spurs? If so, it's an original bass and not a converted floor tom. The fact that it has no tom mount is really not that strange: it may have originally had the tom mounted on a stand. What type of tags are inside each drum?
That kit is a real oddity from that era, for the reason stated above. If it were in Jet Black it would be command some serious dollars, but even in Koa it's a very valuable kit. The 18" bass, the 14" floor tom: both grail-type drums.
I'm not sure I would drill it for the mount. Any modification at all is going to hurt the value. Not worth it, in my view.
I have a Koa kit in 22-13-16, has a factory single-tom mount - uncommon for that era also.
I think we've talked before, but yeah sure, send me a PM and we'll talk

Yes, only drilled for two spurs. Tags are the large brown tags with Powertone and Fullerton, Ca. on them. Don't have serial numbers, but I'll try to get them
Per your advice, I won't put anything on the bass drum. I think I've done business with you from DFO too. Some Big R parts?
Nice kit Gary! With the water that close, I would have taken the fiberglass kit.;)
Blaemire / Jenkins-Martin drums.

Very nice kit. I never really like koa but on the smaller sizes of your kit it really does look nice!

Trust me Greg, it was not easy being that close to the water with that kit, but it was a natural drum riser and really the only logical place to set up.
