UM, Craig, ah, you want to explain this?lolJeff C

HAH! Morning Jeff!

Oh yeah, that's easy to explain. I raised three daughters and have two granddaughters aged six and two. Besides, this is California...

By George, I think he's got it! Penicillin will normally cure it though.

There is a guy in town that has been experience doing wraps. He said it's possible to wrap right over the chrome, and NOT strip the chrome...

I understand the purists about not doing a rewrap, but this will be a player's kit...

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like chrome over wood is tough to work with. This deal may not happen because the guy thinks this COW is rare and he's asking 1750 with snare, but he will sell without snare. Still too much probably, yet it's the sizes I'm looking for...24, 12, 13, 16.

Yikes! Sounds a bit steep, particularly if you plan to re-wrap as a player's kit. I'd be patient, and keep my eyes open - those sizes aren't that hard to find I don't think... 70s version anyway. The old, damaged orphan route sounds pretty good to me - maybe try to post in the 'Wanted to Buy' section.

I agree with rewraping/altering/drilling vintage drums in good shape ,will incur the wrath of the drum gods.Just bad mojo, and impolite too. What did that drum ever do to you?

Finding orphans in decent shape, with non original extra holes,is the best way to go.The're cheaper, and in need of "original "restoration.Plug their holes, and strip non original paint,on their shells, and you will be rewarded, with vintage tone and looks goodness.

Bending vintage drums in good condition,to your will ,is just not right.Friends don't let friends drill/rewrapSoap Box

Huge +1 to all of the above. The second paragraph expresses my philosophy verbatum.

Too many great drums to list here!
