What's In Store for 2012? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Any New year's resolutions out there?

I'm wondering what people are hoping to find this new year?

What's on your vintage wish list for 2012? What do you dream of finding in an attic somewhere?

Is it Ludwig, Gretsch, Rogers, Sonor, MIJ? Which kit? Which badge? Which wrap?

Describe for us your dream deal in vintage drums?

Happy New Year! Walking

i think my resolution will be to organize more, finish my restorations, play more, and pick up cymbals this coming year some nice blue label 602's etc but no more drums unless its such a deal i can't refuse as in a real Beatles kit very funny!

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Good health is the bottom line and best gift. My sister just had heart by-pass surgery and is in recovery. I see the misery she went through and now exercise every day and try to eat right.

My dear partner just gifted me a new "Man Cave" drum workshop outfitted for restoration work including a nice work bench and paint shop with wheel and compressor, spray guns and other tools so I can restore a '64 vintage Ludwig Duco kit (similar to the one John just sold) and about five other kits that need work.

So, Gary you seem to have the right balance of searching and restoring

I find it so hard though to let go of the "bug". The addiction to finding vintage stuff out there. I have enough resto work to keep me occupied for all of next year, so how do I focus on that instead of Craig's List or Kijiji...running around peoples garages and attics? Coffee Break2

Thoughts people?

Late 50s/very early 60s Slingerland BDP 22,13,16,matching single ply snare

Rogers mid 60s 22,13,16 in a minty clean glass sparkle

Late 70s Slingerland natural wood finish 5ply snare (prefer deep dish)

That's really it for drums.

I'm most likely going to sell a couple of kits (68 Slingy 20,12,13,14f,16f,matching snare in blue agate, a 71 Slingy 22,13,16,matching snare in mahogany, a 76 Slingy 22,12,13,16 in maple) this year to try and make room for the two kits I'm hunting. We'll see.

I've got some cymbals I'm hunting, but nothing all that special.

i want to wrap up some loose ends on old projects before acquiring new projects. i had been doing that for a few months and it made me feel real good. but now i'm about 3-4 drums deep in projects again. it feels a little out of balance for me.this is all drum-wise.

overall, just hope to get healed up.hope to be a better person and to be to be the best husband i can be to my wife and father to my kids.

Of course good health to everyone. I hope we have a good business year so I can afford to keep looking. Nothing paticular, just old cool drums that need some work. 60's, 70's Ludwigs would be cool!
