Dear Dynaheads,

Would anyone know the year and value of a RDS 21901? Much appreciated. JC

I would. Please post pics of the actual Badge with Big R logo and serial. The numbers you posted do not exist.

Hey, Ploughman, you really know your stuff. Now what about a custom RDS wood shell, script badge, round face strainer, with the serial number 7976? How old and some idea of value. I bought it in the early or middle 60's, I think, but I can't remember for sure.

Thanks.

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Dear Ploughman, I will try to post picture. This is not a Big R drum. And

this serial number is not a misprint. It is a COB dyna. I would also ask if you

if you have any extra mufflers with outside wheel and mount. I saw one today

on another dyna. Please come back. Skinmefive

A Dynasonic, with oval "Custom Built" badge with serial number 7976 would be aprox. 65. Tommy P can more closely identify this time period. This would be a Cleveland era drum.

A Dynasonic in the 21901 range is from around 69-70. I misinterpreted your RDS to mean it is a part of the serial number. this would be a Fullerton era drum

Later period Big R era drums after 1980...through close to the end of 1982 used a badge bearing RD as part of the serial number. These were six digit numbers in the upper 95xxxx-98xxxx ranges. ex... RD984332. There may be drums in the RD99xxxx ranges also.

RDS was never used in the serial sequence. By the by, what is a custom RDS wood shell?

donothorpe/Ploughman!...

With a serial of #7976, this places said drum pretty squarely in 1966. Nice year!
