PRICE CHECK: 1980s ROSEWOOD SONOR LITES DRUMSET Last viewed: 1 minute ago

Loading...

Hi,

I need pricing help for this Rosewood Sonor Lites drumset.

Rosewood inside and outside. The drums are in great shape

Bass: 22x17 note: the bass drum has been drilled for a Pearl double tom mount and the front hoop is cracked all the way through in 2 places.

Toms: 10x9, 12x10, 13x11, 16x17 note: the 10, 12, 13 toms are virgin (no drilling) with RIMMS mounts, the 16 is fine with original legs.

Snare: 7 1/4x14 note: the original owner says that this drum was a special order.

1. What should I ask as an opening bid and a BIN for the bass and toms?

2. What should I ask as an opening bid and a BIN for the snare.

Thanks in advance for your help, these drums are not in my area of expertise.

Mike, from that pic, those sizes for the rack toms do not look correct. As mentioned over at the sonormuseum, the rack toms came in power sizes...

Mike, you are by far the collector here, but I would keep them together, if they are a complete kit, born together....just not really a fan of breaking up complete kits. I do hope you understand I'm not being a jerk, I just personally like to see originality and continuity. Like I said, you know far more about the world of collecting than I probably ever will.

Look, for instance, at all the Ludwig Downbeat kits that are now "incomplete" because 2 parties cared more for ultimate profit and the chance to get the only snare in the world that matches my "as of yet incomplete kit" that someone else already sold the snare out of....(it gets to be a vicious circle) than keeping them together as a complete, original kit...and now someone has to hunt, for 20 years, to find a green sparkle Downbeat snare (just the most rare sparkle wrap I could think up in a pinch...for a Downbeat kit...)...kind of a bummer, and then to have to pay $2,000 for it. And as a Sonor Lite, it would be even more impossible to find the correct, matching snare to complete it....

Please don't take this as an insult, I'm just one of those guys that, if I could ever afford a complete, rare kit, would really want it to be complete and rare. I don't think I have ever seen a green sparkle D/B, but it would certainly be a rarity for me.

I do hope I have not over-stepped my bounds as the worlds premier loser that loves cheap drums, and wishes to find that one attic-full of rarities for $50.00.

Absolutely no offense taken...I'm selling this drumset/snare for a good friend that is making a huge life change in the coming months. We'll see what happens when I get the drumset this weekend.

The seller has been advised to sell the snare separately...nothing is definite yet.

I don't care either way.

Thank you Mike for being understanding and not smackin' me around. I really think you know why I made this statement. If you knew my physical status, I think you would understand. I know how tempting, and very broken, a family can become when they have something of value and other, serious issues. Thank you for being understanding and I will wish your friend well, as I also suffer from very serious health issues. You are a wonderful man and a good friend to your friends.
