This is why I'm looking for pictures. I distinctly recall seeing a Super SK with a bar that went along the bottom from one strainer to the other...
Thanks!

The bar is inside the drum from strainer to strainer
So there are holes on each side of the shell where the strainers are?
Cool!
Here are a couple of (bad) pics of the strainer.
On a separate note, the catalogs describe the Super SK shell as "Extra Sturdy Solid Brass Shell". Does this mean it is thicker and heavier than the standard Sound King? From the outside, with the three lines in the center, it does look a lot like the standard Sound King.
Thanks.

Yeah holes in the shell, see that white bushing looking thing in the second pic? That plugs the hole and centers the rod that connects the strainers. The hole in the strainer in that pics is where the anchor piece goes through and attached with an adjustment knob.
As for the shell I think the Sound King and the Super are the exact same shell.
Okay Tama, funny...it was a typo...that is what happens when you type on a phone!
Sorry man..I was just breaking your shoes....:D

In pic 1,.what are those two slots for...like two slotted arms?
Edges of the snare wires settle in there. Protects them from bends and contact. They weren't on the original strainer just the second version
Ah, that makes sense....thanks for the enlightenment! Cool1
So, the snare wires are longer so the ends fit in the slots? Is it similar to the longer Ludwig Super Sensitive style wires in the pic below...has the wide piece that looks like it fits in the slot?
