I apologize for the terrible images but they are all I have.

Can anyone identify these? The seller claims that he bought them from the drummer in his band and that the drummer took the badges off the drums.

He claims they are - "Red sparkle Ludwig Drums. no cymbals or cymbal stands, no snare just the 2 high toms, floor tom and bass drum, all hardware to mount the heads on them, no bass pedal, just the 4 drums, the bass does have both heads for it, front is the ludwig head and the beater head is a remo head. that is the only heads that i have for the drums."

He also states "There is no tag on the drums stating they are ludwig, the previous owner had peeled it off cause it was covering a hole on the bass drum, im am positive they are ludwigs though. i dont know of too many other drums with the vibration dampener that touches the bottom of the top head"

I am just not feeling like these are truly Ludwig drums, but hey, I could be wrong. But the seller is over an hour away from me and I would like to have some idea about these drums before heading out there.

Any help appreciated!

Doug

I'll let a real Ludwig expert ive you the details. But, these are not Ludwigs. They are not even American made drums. The story passed on to you has more holes in than Swiss cheese.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

The set could be one of 50 or so names..The drums are late 60's to mid 70s M.I.J. most likey made by pearl....These are not Ludwig drums....Mikey

Exactly what I thought guys. Thanks.

LOL... if the head says Ludwig they MUST be Ludwig. And they they MUST be Ludwig because he (guitar player mind you) is not aware of many drums other than Ludwig that have "vibration dampeners". Damn funny stuff.

I offered him $20.00, he said he would take $50.00. Being over an hour away, and NOT Ludwig, I think I will pass.

Thanks all!

But, they could also be Remo or Evans drums.

Early 70's Pearl stencil, "Battleship"lugs with the 2-into-1 tom mount(not made for too long).Luan construction.I'd buy em cause it has an 8 lug ft and probably an 8 lug bass.Seal up the luan with tung oil and you have a nice GB set.Like Mikey said, could have had any number of badges-Dixie was popular up here in the N.E.

General business-you know, all around set.If they were here in Mass.I'd go get them.I built a Royce set with the next generation lugs but similar wood and its excellent for my church gigs.
