Have been offered a 5 piece kit in the above finish. I know its not the most popular finish and it is marked, but how much do you think it might be worth on face value. 5 piece is two racks on a concert tom style mounting, kick floor and 5inch snare. Thanks!

Do you mean a satin flame finish like in this picture? Is it a round badge set? Any idea of the sizes?

Yes thats the colour. Peacock satin flame. So the kit is two rack toms, a floor tom, bass drum and snare. The wrap is scratched on one tom and the floor tom seam is lifting. I dont have sizes as the seller has sent the pics without info and im waiting to hear back from them. Can anyone tell me if its a rare kit, and what value you think it might have?

I'm by no means a Gretsch expert, but I believe that wrap is actually fairly desireable. The down side is that these satin flame wraps are not very durable and prone to scratches and abrasions. Another factor to consider is the included snare drum. Is it COB or does the finish match the rest of the drums? I believe the stop sign badges date these to the 1970s. Are there any accessories included - stands, cymbals, etc.?

If we've determined that it's stop sign badges and a matching snare, then the last big variable (other than condition) is sizes. Smaller kicks and floor toms command higher prices for Gretsch in particular, so hope for a 20-12-14 set-up (an 18" kick is probably too much to ask).

A 20-12-16 stop sign set in aqua satin flame just closed on eBay and didn't sell for $1100 with $125 shipping. I saw a 22-12-13-16 stop sign satin flame set close for $800 plus shipping a few months ago. The matching snare's the biggest thing going for your kit. I'd be nervous offering a top-end price, but I'd think you could get at least a grand for it. And of course, that goes up or down depending on size and condition, missing parts, mods, and all the other things we care about.
