Wish I had pics but I'll describe it my best.Was at a pawn shop 2day where they had 2 Acrolites from the 1970's (B/O badges). Whats up with the 2 types of finishes on this drum. One drum was your avarage Run-of-the-mill smooth aluminium shell but the other drum looked like a painted textured finished.Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Those are the exact ones i seen 2day.Im familar with the smooth aluminium ones but not the textured ones.
Im pretty curious about it myself. Maybe one of the true gurus will chime in and educated us. I aquired a shiney acrolite the other day. 1969 keystone. I have 8 all together, but a lot of these guys have 100 or 500 $2,000 snares in thier collection LoLoLoLo

Is that textured finish original?? That looks exactly like the Rustoleum "hammertone gray" that I used to spray paint the rear axle of my truck...
...not that that's a bad thing, I'm just saying...
