Drum wrap thickness
It seems that the problems are more with certain era Gretsch's than anything else. They may even be oversize to begin with BEFORE wrapping.

I will concur that Kent made various sub-brand drums. Revere, Champion and a few others that I can't readily recall. They had a shield-shaped badge.

Well, I had a Slingy pedal with a similar spring arrangement and it was a real dog. Very slow return compared to other designs.

That is a typical MIT load. The previous owner scraped off the hyphen. It's actually a Leg-end drum set. Which is a foot.

I agree-a good quality wood glue will hold that closed. It's a floor tom,not usually under high tension and being held together with a head and rim.
