Chico Hamilton used a 16” with Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker in LA. I don’t know the year.

Coated cable like black swamp snares. They will be more true to the sound than wire.

I will reiterate. I have a 14x14 that someone painted black in the inside. I tried to remove the paint. Big pain and I wasn’t successful.
