Do some test samples on a piece of birch first... Then & if the edge is already shaped & sanded, I would simply mask of the finished edge as close as...

Rogers made some mid 70's when they ceased putting mufflers in Big R Dynasonics... I still have a few which I use a lot. Tama or Pearl made them too....

If the wrap is not salvageable to your satisfaction maybe look at some "Mirror Chrome" wrap from Jammin Sam's... worked for me... wont cost the earth...
