I've been addicted to them since the early 60s...He stareted playing in the 70s, around 75, I think. He had a 75-76 Acro, as did most drummers our age...

What I found from working on these late 70s ands early 80s Ludwigs is that the end of the threads are intentionally buggered to minimize loss of parts...
