I don't think the head will be as big of a problem as getting the rims to fit. I know I've seen special made lugs that allow the tension rods to go in...

$50 is probably a fair price, however driving 3 hours for it? Thats up to you, in my opinion not worth it.

I saw this one yesterday as well, the whole kit seems a little funky. 5ply with rings?, 6ply, and 8ply shells? I can't recall ever seeing a Slingy kit...
