    Sorry - have not been on here in quite some time....yes, I was re-shaping a Slingerland COB using threaded rods and nuts - and padding up the shell very well to avoid scratching.

    Will search for the thread and get back to you if I find it. But yes, that was me. I used the lug screw holes in the shell. I have not tried this on a Steel shell, only COB. I would certainly try though if I had an OOR steel shell though.
