ive owned this beautiful snare for quite a few years. I've never been able to verify the manufacturer. its a very lightweight wooden shell. ive taken a pic of the shell makeup for you to see. it has no re-rings. the shell is 4 3/4 x14. the finish on the shell itself is very nice. it has what appears to be an original grommet with no evidence of ever having a badge. it has straight hoops and is single tension. it has 12 strands of vintage coiled wires. this one has what is most likely its original slunk snare side head. the head alone is easily a 50-75 dollar value. when I got it years ago, it had a torn slingerland radio king calfskin batter head. it now has an attack one ply medium batter head. it has one tension rod that is not perfectly straight, but works just fine. I have used this snare some and its sounds like you would expect it to sound. it gives you a nice open distinct vintage snare sound. would be great to add to a nice vintage wood finish kit or your snare collection. please feel free to pm me here or email at mikelayton@bellsouth.net if you have any questions.

$ 60 plus $ 20 insured shipping to the lower 48. actual shipping costs anywhere else.

SOLD. THANKS!

Hey Mike, is that a solid, one-piece shell or plies? From the inside it looks like a solid maple shell, no plies, but from the outside it looks like mahogany, like it is made up of plies. The hardware dates it way back, do you know how old it really is?

I have no clue about this snare. ive had it for years and got it like it is now. its been tucked back somewhere. the shell and bottom head and wires look untouched.

to me it does appeare to have plies in that pic I took using macro. no rerings though. shell is real light. would probably be neat to add some lugs and some braces behind for support. I don't have the heart to drill it though. if nothing else, some eyelet guides for the tension rods would be nice. it takes a minute or two to get everything lined up after a tear down.

with the single tension, it has that old vintage sound. the single tension wont allow real tight tuning.

make me reasonable offer and you can hear it anytime you like..;)

I recently saw another snare like this for sale. did some further research. this drum may be a gretsch junior pro single tension snare drum. found one in a mid 50's gretsch catalog that seems to match up pretty well.
