Snare Wires For A Ludwig Super Classic Snare Last viewed: 1 day ago

Hey guys. Got a cool pre-serial guy in WMP. I know Puresound makes good repros for these drums, but mine has the standard P-32 butt. Which model is the one to get? I need the single screw on one end for the Classic Strainer, and the holes on the other end for cord. Im confused.

Also....does anyone know if the extended butt has the same hole pattern as the P-32? Would be cool to throw the extender on this drum since it would technically be correct as well.

Help!

The correct ones for the drum you have are these: PLS1416 14" W.F. Ludwig Snare w/String Mounting

The later style butt you speak of would be INCORRECT for that drum. The one fitted is the correct one. Also, the hole pattern is different between the two.

Stick with the ones recommended for it and you'll be ok.

Here's a link to what they would look like installed: http://vintagedrumguide.com/images/snare_applications/wfl_pl-1416/wfl_pl-1416.html

Hi All,

I've just pickup a '58 WFL Buddy Rich super-classic in great condition and I'm now desperately trying to source a set of of these (now discontinued) PLS 1416 wires. Does anybody on the board know of anybody who may still be holding some stock?

Help2

Cheers,

Matt
