I was really surprised by the quick response to my thread requesting a 12" tom... I figure I may as well go for broke...
![]() I nailed down the direction I'm going with my next set. I'm aiming for portability and great sound. I've been watching these really shallow marching bass drums on eBay. I really like the idea. I'm looking for about a 10-12" deep x 26-28" diameter bass drum. At the same time, I want a 15" tom. They didn't exist in the time period I'm looking at, but marching snares and tenor drums (same drum, without a snare unit) were made by Ludwig. My only real stipulations are that the drums have mahogany/poplar/mahogany shells, with white painted interiors. Wish list: Original Champagne Sparkle wrap, and preferably made in 1965. I know that's a tall order, but a guy can dream, right???? ![]() Thanks... ![]()

16x12 tenors are fairly common as well. I picked up a very nice one that I'm using as a FT with my Downbeat kit.

Yeah, I've seen a few... I'm just partial to 15" toms for some odd reason... Plus the difference between 12" and 16" would be too great for my tuning.

Oops... forgot to mention that I want "Clubdate Date" style drums... ie: one center Bow Tie lug.
I'm trying to build a weird Club Date-esque setup... ![]()
