I'm thinking of buying some Gretsches on craigslist - 20 13 16 and 6.5x14 in my favorite color, MBP. They seem to be in excellent shape, all original, date stamps, early 50's, stick chopper hoops. $1500. My hope is to compare them to my 60's 20 12 14 5x14 in the same color, and sell whichever one I don't keep. My question is, could I make my money back on the craigslist drums if I sold them? Are they as desirable as the later die cast rim drums? Thanks...
