Default Ludwig floor tom correct legs

Hello, VDF Ludwig gurus.
Since I'm a tall guy, I'd like to try on a set of long legs for my 14"x14" Ludwig floor tom. I've found a set for what I think is a decent price but I want to be sure before purchase if this set is really Ludwig and if it would be period correct for 1967. They're 24" long.

If they are 9.5mm, they will work.

Hi Morgatto!

Technically, any of the 23" legs (they were advertised as 23") would not be "period correct" for 1967, as Ludwig was only offering the shorter 17" legs. However, you said you're a tall guy and the legs you're considering would be more appropriate anyway. The legs you pictured have the longer splined section and probably from the 80's or newer. I have a set of mid-to-late 70's 23" legs where the splined section is only half the length of those you are considering. I would definitely go with legs with the longers splined section. The shorter, and period-correct, legs won't give your tom enough height!

And, YES, those legs are Ludwig!

Thanks, Mark.
Yes indeed the legs it came with are too short to me and, as you can see, one of them has a little rust. Mine are 16,5" rubber included though. Now I know the legs I'm considering are from the 80's or even newer (thanks to you) I guess the asked price is not so reasonable.

Do you mind if I ask what price they are being listed?

At least your getting longer legs and not doing what someone did to my 14" 1968 Ludwig floor tom. Drill a hole below the bottom hole of the leg bracket to move the bracket down so the tom would be a couple inches higher. Maybe they only made the one size legs in 68.

vibes!

I've also seen examples of moving the bracket down, the same way you noted. Usually done out of desperation, as longer legs weren't available! Ludwig's 23" legs solve the problem!

Hi, Mark. Starting bid at 49 (about $55) plus 25 shipping from Italy to Spain. No bid at this time...
