The video is a lie! The author revealed the tracks were overdubbed with a luan Maxwin 6 lug snare at different tunings. Suckers!

Yes, in a recording situation, ANYTHING goes. The studio can be another instrument, itself -especially these days with sampling and digital stuff....no more 2" tapes on a Studer...or at least very few.
