Default Is this a Leedy Reliance snare drum?

Hello folks,

I appreciate any info on this drum. 4x14 inch.

I bought it from a Gentleman from Salem Oregon who says his Dad played it at school in the '30's. The decal on the drum is from a company that sold instruments in Portland Oregon from 1902-1932.

Steel hoops, magnet won't stick to shell or tubes. The batter hoop has 3 numbers stamped in; 2 9 5

From what I can find online it has a "utility" strainer and I saw a photo of this model of snare drum and they were calling it a "reliance".

It has what I would call, for lack of better terminology, an inverted bead.

The bearing edges roll back up to the side of the drum.

If you notice there is a crack in the inside of the shell, also a few of the photos show what look to be grind marks near the crack.

Could this be a vertical weld that was cleaned up with a wire wheel at the factory and then later cracked? Pure speculation on my part.

I'm curious as to what year it may have been made. I've picked up a few Ludwig drums like this in the $200-$250 range, maybe this is about what this might be worth?

Thanks for taking the time!

What a wonderful old drum. I have no idea of its identity, but think it would be odd for the manufacturer to place a lug assembly for a tension rod right on a seam like that. I guess maybe they thought it was a good idea to hide the seam, but it seems to be an odd place to me. I love the snaps on the McIntosh brown bag by the way.

Yes. Good point about the lug assembly.

I'll figure out a fix for the crack, ( good welder).
