I don't believe its that old. Looks like an early/mid '40s stamp to me. The three dots under the U shaped Arabic letter, instead of usual 2 dots and two dashes, is the main indicator.

BosLover is right about your trademark type; it is early 1940's. But all this "first stamp" stuff is B.S. What Hidehitters calls a "first stamp could be any one of 4 separate trademark types that Zildjian used in the 1930's, and that neither he nor anyone other else is currently aware of. So using his style of nomenclature means that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stamps all of which are unknown to him are all "1st stamps". This was first shown on the Hidehitters website, and then was copied onto the other "timeline" by Rob Scott (whoever he is). And further complicating matters, besides that, the Hidehitter's presentation shows a mixed up batch of four different kinds of 1930's trademarks which he presents as examples of "1st stamps". And further muddying things up he also presents two examples within that same batch (which from extrapolating his nomenclature), would actually be called "5th stamps"!

So its no wonder you're confused about yours. That's what happens when you get somebody who thinks he knows what he's doing (but really doesn't) trying to make up a cymbal dating timeline. In trying to "help" present a guide for dating cymbals, the result is that they just end up confusing instead. Then someone else always has to step in to confirm or refute that identification anyway. So in the final analysis what good did that "timeline" do for you?

Thank you for clearing that up for me.

I wanna bid on it, and it`s still at $90, If it goes up too much more in 3 days I can`t but is $150 too much ?

Is those marks under the stamp part of it, they look like they are ?

Those marks are curious, but I have no idea what they are.

Are you real sure that you want an orphaned marching band cymbal? That's a very heavy weight for a 16"

The lower section of the stamp looks to be very heavy on the bottom and light on the top indicating that it was on a pretty severe angle during stamping. So possibly the marks could be from the stamp edge/frame...or part of the stamp which wasn't intended to make those marks????

Those marks at the bottom are just part of a very light second stamp. It's the lower part of the "M" and "A" from "MADE IN USA".
