That's funny. I prefer to hear a drummer playing his or her drums with a band. My measuring stick for how good the drums sound is when they are being played as part of a band's rhythm section. Soloing does not do it for me.

It's cool that Jda and I have different opinions about drum solos. On the drum forums, I will usually watch
thirty seconds or so of a drum solo to see and hear what the person who posted it wants others to see and hear.

Other than Louie Bellson, Joe Morello, and sometimes Buddy Rich, that 30 second drum solo attention span holds true for me.
