Baffles me that anyone would go to such a degree to fake this kind of $hit. The cost to produce the shell, buy the hardware, badge ... gee, what does that sell for? Certainly not more than the repro Vistas you can buy for $600+/-.

I asked Reverb how certain they are. Here's their response :

"We are about as certain as you can be that this drum is not authentic. It's probably an RCI shell with modern Ludwig hardware and a fake badge.

Thanks again for your understanding on this."

O ... the drum will be heading back to the seller with the kiss of death negative feedback.

Is a fake Vistalite any worse than a legitimate Vistalite? Just asking for a friend.........................

This isn't new information, and it isn't independent verification. All I've done is annotate the features in the badge which give it away. The info was already available here

http://www.vistalitedrum.com/article_fake_drums.htm

and I just used the badge Hobbs posted as a base for my annotations. True, I did it without having seen that site...

I get your point. What I should have posted is "Here is some info that may further verify that this is a fake badge". The info is new to me and maybe to others as well. Thanks to KCDrumDad and Zenstat for presenting it so clearly.
