I don't see your reasoning, my 24" Black letterd medium 2002 has no problem with it, is there a 26" limit?? note the pic that is a 20" bass drum with a bass drum mounted cymbal arm, with my 24" ride sitting pretty and proud??

I stand corrected.

26" is just a damned heavy cymbal, that's all.

My 22" Stewart Copeland Blue Bell can make a some of the stoutest kick drum mounts turn.

Love the pic, by the way.

I love the earliest drums to the very present, with that said, look at if you have acces to a 20's or 30's clamp on cymbal arm they had cymbals up to 40+ inches perched on top of them a clamp on to your bass drum hoop.

I need to weigh my 22" Blue Bell, then. It is a freakin' HORSE as far as weight goes; more like a CLYDESDALE, that is...

No, I'm using the 26" Paiste only sometimes for recordings. I'm playing my 32 y old Yamaha Recording 9000, piano black with 20 kick and 8,10,12,13 sometimes a 15" tom, Dave Weckl Signature 13", a also very old Ludwig Supraphonic or a Noble & Cooley Snare drum. I have another custom made kit (made from a small company in Munich), it's all like a DW, Keller shells, thin, nice sound. The kits name is AMC stands for American Maple Custom. Have to look after my kids, will do a pic of the cymbal later...

I'm playing this cymbal only sometimes for recording jobs. My daily drum kit is a 32y old black Yamaha 9000 Recording Series with a 20/16 kick and 8,10,12,13 and sometimes a 15" tom. Snares are Dave Weckl Signature 13/4, a old Ludwig Supraphonic, Noble&Cooley 14/7 and my cymbals are all K-Zildjian and a Sabian HHX evolution HH.
