Or in the bid retraction strategery ....is if an item is at say 349...you put 1000 in and it raises the current bid a small amount above the previous high bid.
Then you retract that bid now knowing where the high bidder is at. Watch to see if no other bids are placed, and if there isn't, bid over (now knowing his top limit) by 10 bucks in the remaining moments .

It rarely works some unknown always comes in at the end and outbids everybody lol..
But you can check another's maximum bid..while the auction is in progress..lol

I consider that to be a serious breach of auction protocol.
Back when reserve auctions were more popular I occasionally would get a bidder that would bid upwards until he found out where the reserve was at and then retract. Maybe they thought of themselves as clever. But anybody I caught doing that was immediately notified that they were just added to my "blocked bidders list"; and those that did are all still on there to this very day.

Yeah that sounds about right. It might just make it to $1200 if there's a little fight between bidders over it at the end.
