Thanks for posting this! One of my most memorable "Buddy" experiences was getting up the nerve to approach him at Disneyland, about 1977, just after he left the stage for a break. Buddy graciously autographed a dollar bill I had! To this day, it sits in a drawer. Do you think it's time to frame it and mount it on my wall?!!
Man thanks for posting this!!! Amazing!!!

I`d say either frame and mount it or put it in a safety deposit box for safe keepin`for future generations...It is definitely a keepsake and you certainly wouldn`t want anything to happen to it...Just my 2 cents...
Cheers
Man, that snare drum sounded like it was tensioned about as tightly as I've ever heard a calfskin get! WOW!
Cool video. Thanks for posting it!
What was posted was the Sound Disk of the 1929 Vitaphone Short called " Buddy Rich In Sound Effects".
The Vitaphone Films had the video on 35mm film, and the sound on a record, which was played "in sync" with the film using a special apparatus called "the vitaphone system". This lasted till about 1935, when WB, who bought Vitaphone, went to sound on film for all their films, even shorts.
All the vitaphone films were made in the Brooklyn Studios, of which the building is still standing (as of now). WB bought the company in the 1930s. The smokestack still says "Vitaphone".
The film portion to "Buddy Rich in Sound Effects" is considered lost, altho more and more Vitaphone films are being found every year. Its a good bet that someone will find a copy of this fim, and it can then be restored using the extant sound disks.
Just joined - how can I listen to Buddy Traps-sound effects? Thanks!
the link is posted on my first post of this thread.
Coincidentally I was just out running an errand and listening to Buddy Rich's "Big Swing Face" album in the car. Still the greatest drummin' ever! Every accent, every fill, every crash just perfectly placed.
That is just amazing
Thanks for posting VM2K.
Stevo.
