Greetings,
I am cleaning out the supply closet and have this MIJ Shell that I am not using. It's a pretty rare wrap, so I though someone out there might need it to complete their kit. Lug hole spacing is 1-23/32" (just shy of 1-3/4"). Odd hole pattern for the butt plate (photo 3). Looks like normal MIJ strainer holes (photo 4) and standard internal tone control holes. Drilled for 6 lugs, strainer, butt and internal tone control. I don't have any of the parts, I acquired it just as it is, a blank shell. 14" head and 5.5" deep (actual depth is 5 3/8"). It should clean up nice. In photo 2 there is what looks like dust on the wrap, but it's not. It's not a sticky residue either. It almost seems like spray paint over-spray or something. Anyway, it should come off with Goo Gone (I haven't tried). It's isolated just to that area. There are also two good size gaps or seams on the inside of the shell (photo 5). You can leave as is or fill them with wood filler. If you cover the cost of my packing materials and shipping, it's yours. Just let me know. Thanks, V

Although I don't need any more drums to restore, I just wanted to commend you, V for posting this! This is what the Forum should be about...members helping each other out. Lately, I haven't seen a lot of this. It seems that every time I read a new thread, it inevitably comes down to dollars or what make of drums will fetch the highest price. Your thread is really a breath of fresh air! Thank you , V!!!

Thanks for the kind words, gents!
I'm just trying to "pay it forward" and keep the positive vibes flowing. I know idrum4fun (Mark) has helped me out in the past with a part I needed (only charged me shipping), so I'm just trying to do my part as well. The more we can all spread the positives, the better off we will all be!

Im not sure what parts are needed to complete this shell but I have a big box of MIJ parts in the basement waiting for a project. So to whoever gets this shell I welcome you to contact me and maybe I can help you out. Not asking for money either, in fact I might not need any for shipping depending on what that would cost. Just PM me here on VDF.

What a pleasure it is to read about a response not dealing with money or profit to be made. I too have a lot of MIJ parts that are just collecting dust. If anyone needs anything that might work for this shell, please let me know. Maybe I can help as well. Great inspiration, Jeff! Brian
