Ok, so, if you don't own it... Are you pursuing it or can you share as I would love to add that to my collection?

Unfortunately, I'm sure that it's out of my price range. Here's the link to the listing. Good luck! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Historic-1940s-Slingerland-Radio-King-Drum-Kit-Light-Blue-Diamond-Pearl-Wrap-/201814531632?hash=item2efd155e30:g:r3MAAOSwr~lYnip4

Wow, what a shame about that missing chunk of wrap. No chance you'll ever find a spare piece of that stuff. Gorgeous drums though, I'll be watching this one.

That is a gorgeous wrap and a serious piece of drum history.

With the digital capabilities that some of the wrap makers have now, I'd be surprised if they couldn't make a pretty close match for a patch. It would be costly though.

Good luck to whoever pursues it. Rooting for you CTMichaelV!

What a beauty! So cool to see these come up for sale. Would love to have them! Add a nice old Slingerland NOB tube lug snare and off you go! Or matching snare if you happen to have one. :D

Glenn.

I would definitely drive to pick those up if i bought them......

Regarding the chunk of wrap....I'd lean a framed pic of Krupa against it and call it a day.....

From OldSchool

Here's a Radio King kit being offered (not mine) in Slingerland's Blue Diamond Pearl wrap. Gotta love the wooden hoops, top and bottom,on both toms and the matching in-lays! Cool1

That is one sexiest kits that i have ever seen..

Keep fixing them up...
