Default Tromsa Shells Vintage Custom Kit!

I always liked the sound of Tromsa concord shells, i just did not like the plastic hardware on the shells! I got a blue Concord kit from 1977 as far as i figured out, that kit was absolutley gone! Lugs broken lots of part missing! So i made the plan to build myself a custom Vintage kit!
Here are the first pics of the base of the set:-)

Then i started to strip the shells.... did all the drilling for the new STDRUMS Hardware....painted the inside of the shells like in a Rogers kit....and started to put the sparkle lime wrap on it:-)
Also the bearing edges were made new in a 30* angle like on Gretsch sets:-)

Nice!!! Heavy color, I like that. Natural wood hoops work well.
You know the kind o wood it's made of? Looks like the wood in a orphan marching drums project I'm on. Not birch, not maple. Pretty hard, not so soft.

Hy Bartw
The shells are beech with re-rings, they sound very cool! Very warm and very deep:-)

You really did a nice job with those old Tromsa shells! The drums look 100% better than even the factory original. Great color and good choice of hardware. Nice job all around.

Enjoy them.

John
