You sold your Leedy set at a better price for sure. I really wanted to jump on it, by I wasn't ready. My loss.

Nice kit here though, love the blue sparkle.

That looks just like one of the first vintage drum sets I acquired when I started collecting vintage drums. I loved that dark blue sparkle finish. I think that for a while Slingerland used that wrap which was a dark blood red sparkle on the reverse side. The SlingerLeedy drums from the years 1956-1965 are some of my all-time favorite drums. If I had to limit myself to only one drum set, it would have to be that same 13/16/20 configuration from 1963 with the matching Shelly Manne snare drum.

That looks just like my Leedy set, except I have 12" and 14" toms with a 20" bass drum. Too bad it doesn't have the 22" BD.

DrumBob, how about a picture of your kit? Do your toms have badges?

Maybe I'll set them up tonight and shoot a photo. No badges on the toms, but there is one on the bass drum.

My 1963 Leedy set has badges on the bass drum and the snare drum only. The mounted tom and floor tom don't have badges.

Slinger/Leedy era: No badges on Leedy toms '61 - mid '66. Badges appear on toms before '61 and after mid year '66. (per Slingerland historian Dr. Wenk)

That's consistently the way my Slingerland and Slinger/Leedy drums have been. And, I've owned quite a few sets of them.
