Very unusual. What do you think they mean in the advert when they say the inside shell diameter is larger than that of the plastic head? I take that to mean the head isn't going to fit, but surely that can't be what they meant. What are they getting at?

Certainly confusing. I could only assume they are talking about the inside diameter of the 'outer' shell, the one on the outside of the lugs. ???

Agreed...The center portion of the shell is of larger diameter then the edges...

Cheers

Can the center portion ever be larger diameter than the edges unless we are talking an inside edge (which really wouldn't make sense)? I don't recall learning this in geometry. Or maybe it's the new math.

Nevertheless, will what ever they did make it sound good?

Have another look at the pics...You can clearly see that the center of the shell is larger than at the bearing edges...Or, maybe I`m not seeing it right...

Cheers

There is an inner shell and an outer shell. The heads seat on the inner shell. The outer shell is covering or housing the lugs. I believe Grantro is referring to this outer shell (or lug housing) as the 'center portion'. The inside diameter of this outer shell is 'larger than that of the plastic head' per the poorly written advert. The scarcity of these drums probably says something about the sounds they produced.

Yes, that is what I meant...Thanks for clarifying...

Cheers
