If you can find chromed carriage bolts, drop them in to the extra holes. It will look like some of the European drums (Sonor, etc.) that used them to mount their overly large tom mounts.

I got the drums and spent the week cleaning them up. The shipper (seller) allowed the aluminum frame of one of the BD heads to bang away at the front if one of the BD hoops all the way from New York to Idaho, so I had to refinish the hoop. I decided to do both so they would match.

Each drum is stamped Feb 1966. The champagne finish is in excellent shape, and has aged nicely (many of us do!). It’s not as bright and vibrant as it is under the hardware, but it’s still very shiny and even between the drums.

After cleaning and polishing them, I slapped the heads on and without really tuning them, they sound EXACTLY as I hoped they would: ‘60’s sustain, old school cool.
