Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread
I have several - posted pics of them before - but thought I would throw up a shot I just took about 10 days ago.....at a great gig.
This is a thin shell/re-rings early/mid 60s Pearl made Whitehall. Still need to get the inlays done but she already looks good without them! I have more invested in the hoops than the rest of the kit! All vintage hardware as well - with the exception of a Yammy boom arm and the modern Luddy Atlas BD pedal...much of it MIJ!!! 6 different cymbal brands there: Paiste, Zildjian, Sabian, UFIP, MAC(Meinl Ambico Camber), and yes - Pearl too - which is MIJ This was taken at a gig where I played for both opening bands - and we opened for Gwen Sabastian. I was told 4000 people, but later learned that the local paper estimated that there were 7000 people. The streets were packed with standing room only as far as you could see - stage set up at intersection viewed by 3 streets. Prototype PA worth $250K - and I even convinced the soundman to record our sets for me! One of the best gigs of my life and the biggest crowd I have ever played for outside of marching band in college.

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread
Hello Drummerjohn
Thank You for putting a date and origin on the Tempro's I was thinking they were from about that time but again not 100%sure Hey Mitch Thanks about the orange sparklers pal My very first kit at 13 or 14 was a Norma kit also in orange sparkle wish I still had those now John I love your tiger eye Whitehall's with the natural wood hoops They look AWESOME!! Here is my Pearl kit in tiger eye they have not been fully detailed yet aside from being filthy they have a moderate dusting of white paint flecks all over them and that paint is mighty stubborn It comes off but not without a good amount of cautious effort Last edited by Kenwood; 12-11-2015 at 08:59 AM. |
