Hello,
I am in search of a Hinger Touch Tone Sewer Pipe Snare Drum for purchase. This drum is 6.5 x 14 inches and was made by Hinger Touch Tone. If you know of one for sale, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any information. |

All I know is that when I hear "Hinger Touch Tone" I think of Billy Cobham and the Total Eclipse album. He listed the drum in his album credits.

Here's a good thread on Hinger:
http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=90 Might just be me, but I don't think "The Sewer Pipe Snare Drum" was their official catalogue name ;-) I played one for a while - the fibreglass version. I remember it quite well. Loud, sensitive, very orchestral. In Australia, Hinger were best known for orchestral mallets. I had a residency in a good gig in the middle of town, decent PA, so people loaned me drums all the time. I liked the Hinger but it wasn't completely my cup of tea. The drum you are speaking of was a metal pipe drum. I think you needed an Atlas stand to hold it |
