Default Leedy Reliance

Hi all,

I obtained this 1958 5x14 Slingerleedy some months ago but haven't done any work on it yet. On a whim, I decided to just throw on a new batter head and bring to one of this weekend's gigs, just to see what I'd get. Very surprised at the tone of this one. Plenty of volume, a great mid range attack with a nice, warm low end that I'd expect from a deeper snare, and a seriously throaty rim shot. This does not have the original throw or butt, but I think everything else is original.

I know that the "M" stamp means that this was slated for a natural finish as opposed to a wrap, but does anyone know why Leedy used two date stamps during manufacture? This is from March 1958, and the dates are about two weeks apart.

Thanks all - cheers!
